In 2016 I have flown 24 flights, covering 43265 miles, spending 3 days, 22 hours and 20 minutes in the air. This has taken me to Manchester, Leeds, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Beijing, Hong Kong, Helsinki, Heathrow, Tokyo, Orlando, Lanzarote, Ljubljana, Prishtina, Gatwick. I have flown with KLM, BA, Jet2, Ryanair, China Southern, Air France, Virgin Atlantic, Lufthansa, Adria Airways.

I have visited England, Scotland, France, Hong Kong, Macau, USA, Canary Islands, Finland, Japan, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia. I have transited China, Srbska, Netherlands, Germany.

I have visited four Disney resorts in three continents - Florida, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong.

Continuing the trend, this is fewer flights than previously, but covering more countries.

It’s evenings like this that I travel for; a bunch of queer Disney fans eating our way around a new city, visiting markets, street food stalls and Michelin starred restaurants.

Fish balls, sugar cane juice, the freshest cherries ever, egg tarts, egg noodles, wontons, award winning puddings…

You need to visit Hong Kong and do this soon. Not only is it becoming more and more westernised but the street food stalls are likely to disappear completely within 20 years if they don’t do something about the licensing laws. No new licenses have been given out since the 70s and you can only pass them on to a close relative once.

The views from any sufficiently high building in Hong Kong tends to be amazing. Here’s the views from our rooms on the 35th and 36th floors near Kowloon. One could easily spend hours just looking out the window, but there’s lots of adventure ahead.
